What can I expect?
Small groups meet Fridays 7-9pm at various locations in Orange County during two semesters: Sept-Nov and Feb-May. Sunday groups are only available for those serving in education ministry.
This semester, each small group will study The Gospel-Centered Community, a 9-week curriculum exploring the foundation and fruit of gospel-centered community life.
Small groups are organized as co-ed, gender-specific, or mixed life-stage (singles and married together). You may indicate your preference during registration.
Who can join?
NEXT small groups are only for single/young adult members of Holywave. If you are not a member, you may register with the condition that you will become a member.
Looking for community but not ready to commit to membership?
NEXT hosts various formal and informal fellowships throughout the year that don't require membership. We encourage you to get connected there first!
Am I guaranteed a spot?
Registration is limited, so sign up early to secure your spot. If groups fill up, you'll be automatically placed on our waitlist and admitted on a first-come first-serve basis.
If you want to skip the waitlist, consider opening/leading a new small group! We strongly encourage finding one or two co-leaders to partner with you. Contact Pastor Daniel Kang if interested.
Can I stay with my previous small group?
This may be possible. Contact Pastor Daniel Kang to discuss your options.

- 9/5 - Mandatory Orientation
- 9/12, 9/19, 9/26 - Regular sessions
- 10/10 - Praise & Prayer
- 10/17, 10/24, 11/7 - Regular sessions
- 11/15 - Saturday finale
Attendance Requirement:
All members must attend at least 80% of the meetings (7 out of 9 sessions). If you anticipate scheduling conflicts, this may not be the right season for you to join a small group.
All members are also required to attend in-person Sunday worship at Holywave. Exceptions are made for those who work in healthcare, the armed forces, fire, or police.
